Sayles Landmark Abilene B & B – Tree House
What we like about this room: Although it is the smallest bedroom in the house, it is one of our favorites because of the coziness. It’s like a cross between a ship’s cabin and a tree house!
The smallest bedroom, with the biggest roar! This room has a Queen size bed, built into the dormer with a stellar view over the treetops. The stained, grayish green bead board walls and ceiling pick up the color palette of the trees outside. There is a definite masculine aesthetic to this room, which has a comfortable, tufted wing-back chair, a tufted leather side chair and a drop leaf table for desk space. It is accessorized with vintage photos, a 19th century bison horn trophy mount and bird dog hunting theme artwork. The room is equipped with a mini fridge, high speed, wireless internet, a 42 inch flat screen television, DVD player and conveniently located electrical connections on each side of the bed that include a pair of standard outlets and a pair of USB ports for all those devices that we all have these days.
The en suite bathroom is small but well designed for function and includes a subway tile shower and Carrera Marble topped vanity. Note: Our guests over 6 feet tall may find this shower to be too short.
